We were both impressed when I sweet talked my way into lowering a massive phone bill from going over the minutes. The first two people I talked to said they could only reduce the bill by “A” if I upgraded our plan. Then I talked to a lady who doubled what the other people claimed was their maximum just by making conversation and explaining the situation.

I’m going to take the same approach to car reservations. After researching the best deal online, the plan is to call around and see who can match the lowest price. My mom is traveling the week after Fourth of July so a lot of people should be back at work. That means less people are making car reservations, hopefully, so I can get a deal.
