car reservations

My husband and I have been together since we were freshmen in college. Every year since we met, we have taken a vacation together. Every year, we try to go somewhere much different than the previous adventure. Only one aspect of our trip remains the same, I am the one who books the car reservations. I always book our car reservations way ahead of time, because one year our trip was almost ruined due to a shortage of rental cars in the city we were visiting.

We were so worried when we approached the rental car desk in the airport and noticed the sign announcing that they were out of cars. Matters only became worse when every other rental was out as well. We did not know what to do, all we could think was that we should have booked our car reservations in advance. Since we did not know a single person in the city we were visiting and we did not want to call a cab, we just sat and pondered what to do. It was by some miracle that after about an hour there was a single car return. The car reservations worker came and found us out of the kindness of her heart and everything was ok.

Since then, I have always booked our car reservations ahead of time. I never want to go through a problem like that again, I am just glad that I learned my lesson without getting stranded in a strange city.
